Delicious tahini sauce


  • Tahini

  • Water

  • Lemon Juice

  • Salt

  • Optional (cucumbers and tomatoes)


  1. Note: If your jar of tahini has oil at the top, take a spoon and stir the tahini until it is evenly blended. (Just like peanut butter, sesame seed oil tends to rise to the top of the tahini jar).

  2. In a medium size bowl, add 1/4 cup of tahini

  3. Add 1/2 cup or less of water in same bowl of tahini

  4. Wisk tahini and water with fork until fully blended

  5. Add 1-2 tablespoons of lemon juice to bowl of tahini

  6. Add few pinches of salt to bowl of tahini

  7. Wisk the bowl of tahini to mix the salt and lemon juice. Add any more of the ingredients to your preference: More tahini will make the sauce thicker, more water to make it thinner and drizzle as a dressing, more lemon juice for tanginess, etc.

  8. Optional: For a chunkier tahini sauce, finely chop cucumbers and tomatoes and add to bowl of tahini. Tomatoes and cucumbers tend to absorb the flavor of the tahini, adding a refreshing taste to the tahini sauce. Chunky tahini sauce is great for falafel pockets/pitas!
